When We Listen
It was a Wednesday morning. The air was crisp. The sun decided to grace us with its brilliance. I made my way to the emergency room where I was working for a two-week period on the cardiology consult service. There was much to learn and I relished every opportunity to hear a murmur, to help diagnose an NSTEMI, and to rush the patient to the cath lab for what I understood was a life-saving procedure. The learning experience was thrilling. My neurons were firing, happily.
